Dental decay or dental caries happens when certain types of bacteria found in dental plaque (the film of bacteria that constantly forms on teeth) produce acids that soften the enamel.
Tooth Wear
Tooth wear is a gradual and complex process which leads to the loss of dental hard tissue. This enamel loss can be caused by frequent acid exposures from food and drink (eg fizzy drinks).
